  • I lead SEO due diligence on the purchase of 3 businesses.
  • I worked with the internal team to create a JS flattening service for Angular v1, to proof of concept a re-build into Vue.
Haymarket
  • I lead the SEO efforts on What Car, Autocar and Piston Heads
  • I was the SEO lead on a new car buying platform built using Angular JS.
  • I supported the wider journalist team with training. SOPs and where helpful opportunity analysis.
Money Supermarket
  • I lead the Home Services SEO vertical and towards the end the Pet, Life, Travel and a further 20 niche insurance products.
  • I lead the Performance efforts across the brand, creating engineer training and education and auditing the website so to improve performance scoring.
  • I supported the SEO side of the due diligence for the groups acquisition of Quidco.
Forbes Advisor
  • I lead the Technical SEO and the CMS Product teams
  • I introduced an end to end process for moving work throughout the engineering team which covered both weekly tasks and wider business OKRs.
  • I built a custom framework for crawling enterprise sites which took costs down from thousands per month to £120.
Plan UK
  • I've helped the team with onpage SEO training, best practices and opportunity analysis.
  • I've been the SEO PoC for their site migration, covering technical, content and rollout considerations.
  • I supported the team with a sitewide content review.
Capital on Tap
  • I underwent a technical and Performance audit and provided tickets and QA for the work to be implemented.
  • I created the plan for growing the website into international markets, supporting with implementing HREFLang and the respective content strategies.
  • Helped to create and drive the strategy which landed them #1 for [business credit cards]
Timeout
  • I helped Timeout to find new opportunities overlapping affiliates and their key theme of travel.
  • I helped Timeout with building a keyword model which can be applied across markets to exemplify and quantify opportunities
  • I created briefs for newly discovered opportunities so to help the team to hit both content and feature best practices.
World Horse Racing / Goodwood
  • I supported Goodwood with doing an opportunity analysis of a potentially new growth market.
  • I helped World Horse Racing to find opportunities which exist outside of gambling and equestrian/vetinary related topics.
  • I supported World Horse Racing with the planning of a new website, including how to handle IL8N and platform requirements for potentialy media distribution outside of the website.

How I like to work
Central to how I think and like to operate is that I'm here to help - so my aim is always to try and work in a way which maximises value to my clients.
Flexibility

Whether one-off engagements or roadmaps covering several months - my north is whatever delivers the most valuable to my clients and which will help with getting them from where you are presently to where you want to be.

No charge for questions

Communication is important for lots of reasons, but most importantly it matters because as an expert I need to make sure my clients have a good model for how to win at SEO and what is happening.

To this end, I operate predefined times in a week which clients and even non-clients can organise a call and we discuss some of the things which are not clear or they would appreciate some additional guidance on.

Family friendly

As a father to a young daughter, and dog dad to two cockapoos, I keep my evenings and early mornings free for dad duties. I am happy to join after hours to help solve problems but like to earmark 7am - 9am and 6pm - 9pm for family life.
